I was born in Nottingham and have lived here my entire life other than the years I spent studying at Edinburgh University and the Wharton School in USA.
I have successfully established and developed clothing and property businesses based in the city and abroad. I frequently travel abroad across a number of countries. Currently, my core focus is the family property business which ranges from commercial and residential property investment and development, car parks and hotel and hospitality investments.
I have always taken a strong interest in the local community and have been involved in numerous activities, including having served on the governing boards of further education colleges and business support agencies such as the training and enterprise council. I have also been involved in a number of national and local charities and helped establish the new Indian Community Centre.
Apart from my numerous community activities, I enjoy taking advantage of the wide range of restaurants and several cultural and sporting events. In particular, cricket at Trent Bridge and theatre. I am also a disillusioned Notts County fan!
I am keen to promote Nottingham and believe there is great potential in enhancing people’s perception of the city and the potential that lies within it.
Nottingham has a desirable geographic location at the centre of the country coupled with excellent transport links. It has a diverse and vibrant local economy and workforce. Generally physical assets are competitively priced and I believe that the city has a competitive advantage compared to other similar locations hence giving it the ability to outperform other cities in terms of economic growth in the longer term.
