International Women’s Day 2024

This International Women’s Day, we would like to celebrate some of the amazing women we work with to create unforgettable events for you and your team. Take a read below at some of their career journeys and the incredible things which they have achieved within their roles.

Kylie Costall – Head of sales and hospitality, National Ice Centre and Motorpoint Arena Nottingham

‘In my role as Head of Sales & Hospitality at National Ice Centre and Motorpoint Arena, I oversee the management, organization, and sales of hospitality and conferences as well as maximizing the benefits for our commercial partners.

Having the opportunity to build relationships with our clients and partners is my favourite part about the role. One of my favourite things about the venue is the incredible artists we get to host there every year, my favourite being Pete Tong’s Presents Ibiza Classics’.

Melissa Sobo – Director of sales at Nottingham Venues

“I am in my sixth year as Director of Sales at Nottingham Venues which is a collection of independent venues specialising in meeting and events, set in the beautiful grounds of the University of Nottingham. I enjoy the variety of my role, no day is the same in the hospitality industry, you may have a corporate event onsite followed by a sports event and then a large wedding.  The team is also a huge part of what I do and it’s like having a large family, being in this industry especially over the last few years has bought us closer as an organisation and created a business with strong values and vision.

Without a doubt our team and customer service are our greatest assets, that’s why we have so many clients returning to us, we have the knowledge and know-how to make sure your meeting or event runs smoothly. We are not just another venue; we offer an unmatched experience.

We are incredibly proud of our region, our city and our accessible location and if we can help with any meeting, event, accommodation or celebration requirements please do get in touch.

Our team do believe everyone in our team plays a part to create a memorable visit and we will be certainly celebrating International Women’s Day here at Nottingham Venues with our inclusive working culture”.

In my role, I get to connect with truly incredible individuals and build genuine relationships that keep me motivated to work hard and take real pride in what I do.

It is a true honour to work alongside this incredible team, who are supportive and who have mentored and inspired me immensely over the years”!
