Jasmine Rowbotham is a commercial and events executive at Notts County Football Club. As part of her role, she ensures guests attending events have everything they need, provides support to conference and event organisers and manages enquiries on behalf of the venue. The team at Meet in Nottingham sat down with Jasmine to find out more about her role and the iconic Notts County Football Club.
How long have you been in the role and what does your typical day look like?
“I have worked at Notts County for over two years now, I started in conferencing and events department where I have covered every role, both in sales and delivery. I have now been promoted to commercial and events executive where I am heavily involved with club partnerships and hospitality.
There is no typical day on the job working in football, one day I could be up to my eyes in admin, planning parties and thinking about all things football and the next I could be out meeting with clients around Nottingham to create opportunities for them to partner with our club and use us as a platform to promote their brands and businesses. I was lucky enough to recently visit the Doughnotts HQ and learn all about the process of doughnut making, from baking to decorating!”
What’s the maximum capacity for an event or conference at Notts County Football Club?
“Our newest venue for 2024, The Nest has a capacity of up to 1000 guests. It features one of the largest screens in Nottingham with an unreal sound system. The perfect venue for those end of summer parties!
“Our stadium also has a free-flowing layout, meaning that our conference rooms can all be linked together to increase capacities and hold almost any type of event – from a jobs fair to a charity gala all the way to single member teams call meetings. We have a room suitable for you.”
What are the sustainability and environmental benefits of holding a conference or event at Notts County Football Club?
“We have recently partnered with an environmental sustainability partner Circulayo and are continually driving forward with ways to become more sustainable as a club. Circulayo was founded in 2021 and provide technology to support businesses such as ours in eliminating single-use plastic within their venues, events and workspaces.
Their technology enhances our supply chain management, supports sustainability targets and engages consumers in eco-friendly choices. We’ll be using their Flow platform to manage our supply chain and receive reports and insights into their stock usage”.
What does the rest of 2024 look like for Notts County Football Club, and do you have any event predictions?
“2024 is such an exciting year for NCFC, and Christmas party season will soon be rolling around!
“With the Nest being such a large venue, something that Nottingham has not seen before – I am proud to be part of the events team who are working on an events calendar for this great space. It’s definitely one to watch!”
Is there anything else you’d like people to know about the venue or the team who work there?
“Notts County FC is built up of lots of different teams, and the club could not run without every single one of them, from the amazing events delivery team to the media team and even the operations and maintenance teams!
“If you are lucky enough to visit Meadow Lane whether it’s for a fixture, a Nest event or a conference you will see the team all hard at work doing their different roles. It really is a one-of-a-kind, amazing venue and before I worked in football, I had no idea how many times a week a pitch would need mowing!”
